As part of its mission to promote export opportunities, BHETA is to host a webinar with the Canadian retailer, Canadian Tire. The event takes place on 28 January at 2:30 pm and will focus on the new opportunities for UK suppliers looking to establish or strengthen their presence in Canada. Canadian Tire has a wide product portfolio including kitchenware, cookware and appliances, home décor and decorating, and DIY tools. It is keen to meet with UK suppliers as the Canadian market reassesses supply chains in light of the shifting economic and political landscape, alongside changing consumer demand.
The key speaker from Canadian Tire will be senior retail leader Carolyn McPherson, Vice President (Living Division). Carolyn oversees merchandising for a $3bn+ portfolio and has a strong track record in driving growth, launching new products, and building strategic vendor partnerships. The webinar will provide attendees with direct insight into Canadian Tire’s current priorities, what Canadian consumers are buying now, and how UK suppliers can position themselves for meaningful commercial discussions. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions directly.
Canadian Tire Corporation is one of Canada’s largest and most influential retailers, with turnover of around £9bn in 2024. The group operates a multi-banner network of nearly 1,700 locations nationwide, giving suppliers access to both consumer and professional buyers across a broad range of categories.
The webinar is open to BHETA members, and non-members who wish to attend can apply, subject to a brief introductory conversation with BHETA’s sector manager (Seema Grantham for Housewares & SEA; Steve Edwards for Home Improvement & Garden). A recording will also be available in the member area of the BHETA website after the event.
