BHETA is launching its first Marketplace Day in January as part of its drive to support suppliers through one of the most significant channel shifts the industry has ever experienced.
Taking place on Tuesday 20th January 2026 from 10:00am–3:30pm at Federation House, Birmingham, the event brings together major marketplaces and leading BHETA members for a full day of strategic insight, real-world experience, and actionable guidance.
With the decline of major high street retailers and the rapid rise of platforms such as TikTok Shop, B&Q Marketplace, ManoMano and others, suppliers are operating in a fundamentally changed environment. Marketplaces have become discovery engines, content-led brand platforms, and — critically — a replacement route to market for categories once dominated by physical retail.
Marketplace Day has been created in direct response to member demand. The agenda includes:
- A strategic briefing on marketplace evolution and consumer behaviour
- Insight sessions from B&Q Marketplace and TikTok Shop
- Supplier case studies from Charles Bentley, Yale, Minky and Meyer, sharing candid experiences and practical takeaways
The sessions will explore how suppliers can differentiate beyond price, optimise content, use advertising tools effectively, and manage channel strategies that protect brand value.
Will Jones, Chief Operating Officer of BHETA, said: "Marketplaces have moved from optional to essential. This event is designed to give members the clarity, capability and confidence to benefit from the opportunities that marketplaces now offer."
The event is free to attend for BHETA members.
