BHETA is thrilled to announce we will be hosting a Meet the Buyer event with John Lewis on Thursday 2nd May, at the Hilton Watford, Elton Way, Watford, London WD25 8HA.

Note: bookings are now closed for this event.

John Lewis overview

John Lewis & Partners began trading over 150 years ago in 1864 on London’s Oxford Street, and is a leading omni-channel retailer in the UK with 34 John Lewis shops and a growing online business – johnlewis.com.

Who should attend?

The overall objective for the event is to meet new suppliers, observe innovative brands, sustainable materials and eco stories.

Our buyers want to meet potential  Utility and Cookshop suppliers in the following categories:

  • Home storage
  • Bath accessories
  • Towels
  • Cook & bakeware
  • Picnic
  • Food prep & gadgets
  • Kitchen textiles
  • Barware including wine racks
  • Food on the go including back to school
  • Food storage including freezer and fridge storage

Who will attend from John Lewis & Partners?

Buyers representing the product categories listed above will be in attendance.

What should I bring and how long do I have?

Each supplier can bring two people and will be allocated a 20-minute appointment with their relevant buyer. Suppliers are able to book additional appointments if they have products relevant for other categories.

John Lewis will give preference to suppliers who come prepared with a range of products rather than just single items.

What should I focus on?

John Lewis are looking for something new and different.

  • We operate a one in one out process for all new suppliers
  • Any new supplier would need to generate enough turnover to warrant delisting one that we already work with.
  • All new suppliers large or small will also be required to sign up to a contractual agreement consisting of a turnover rebate, payment terms, marketing rebate as a percentage of turnover.
  • Due to the currently products we house within our shops we unfortunately wouldn’t look to house brands that have one or two skus.

How will it work?

You will be allocated a specific meeting time with your relevant buyer; it is recommended that you arrive at the venue 10 minutes prior to your allocated appointment.

How do I book a place?

Bookings have now closed for this event.

What are the associated costs?

Member rate:  £89.00+VAT
