BHETA’s EU Marketplace Forum brought members together for a valuable day of insight, discussion and networking, with representatives from leading marketplaces and industry experts sharing their knowledge and perspectives on the evolving marketplace landscape.
The event provided members with an opportunity to hear directly from key marketplace representatives, ask questions, share experiences and build connections with peers and industry leaders.
A day focused on marketplace strategy and insight
The event opened with Fiorella, who began the programme by exploring the importance of strategy and how businesses can approach the changing marketplace environment.
This set the scene for a day focused on practical knowledge, with members hearing directly from representatives across a range of marketplaces and organisations.
The event then moved into a series of sessions featuring representatives from some of the major marketplaces, giving members the opportunity to hear directly from the businesses shaping the online retail environment.
Joybuy shared insights into the marketplace and its approach, while TikTok Shop provided members with an opportunity to understand more about the platform and the opportunities available to businesses looking to grow through social commerce.
bol also joined the sessions, offering their perspective and insights into the marketplace landscape.
Members heard from BHETA’s Business Support Partners, RT7, alongside the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) and Blaise International.
Having such a broad range of voices in one room gave members the chance to look at marketplaces from different perspectives, while gaining a better understanding of the opportunities, considerations and challenges businesses are currently navigating.
Questions, conversations and shared experiences
One of the most valuable parts of the day was the Q&A session.
Members had the opportunity to put their questions directly to the speakers, covering topics that matter to businesses operating in today's marketplace environment. The discussion allowed for more open and practical conversations, with insightful answers helping members explore issues beyond the presentations themselves.
It was also a reminder that many of the challenges businesses are facing are shared across the industry.
Meet the Buyers sessions
The much-anticipated Meet the Buyers session brought the day to a close, giving members the opportunity to have more direct conversations with marketplace representatives.
There was a real sense of enthusiasm in the room as members took the opportunity to discuss their businesses, explore potential opportunities and build new relationships.
For many attendees, the session provided a valuable opportunity to move beyond the presentations and have meaningful conversations that could support their future marketplace activity.
Bringing the industry together
Beyond the individual presentations and sessions, what stood out throughout the EU Marketplace Forum was the sense of community.
The event gave members the opportunity to hear from people with different experiences and perspectives, while also meeting others who are working through many of the same challenges.
The feedback from members reflected just how valuable the day was, with many highlighting the impact of the insights, conversations and connections they gained from attending.
BHETA’s General Manager, Stephen Richardson said: “One of BHETA’s key strengths is bringing suppliers, retailers and marketplaces together. Face to face events are still hugely important to educate and bring together like-minded suppliers with proactive sellers. We were delighted to bring China’s biggest Marketplace, Benelux’s biggest marketplace and the leader in social commerce to the same event for our members.”
For BHETA, that is at the heart of what we aim to provide through our events: valuable opportunities for members to learn, connect and feel part of an industry community that is navigating change together.
The EU Marketplace Forum was a great success, with members leaving with new knowledge, new connections and practical conversations to take forward as they continue to navigate the opportunities and challenges of the marketplace landscape.
