Discover How The Rainy Day Trust Can Support BHETA Members and Their Employees

BHETA members are being invited to join an upcoming webinar exploring how the Rainy Day Trust can support businesses and the people behind them through employee wellbeing, specialist advice and practical support.

Taking place on 5 November 2026 from 11am to 12pm, the online session will introduce members to the Rainy Day Trust and its evolving role across the DIY, home improvement, garden and housewares sectors.

The webinar will be led by Anna Skeats, CEO of the Rainy Day Trust, who will explain how the charity is moving beyond its traditional role as a source of support during times of crisis to become a broader wellbeing partner for employers.

Supporting the people behind the sector

Founded in 1843, the Rainy Day Trust has a long history of supporting people who work, or have worked, across sectors including DIY retail, builders’ merchants, housewares, garden centres, nurseries and potteries.

The charity is now entering a new chapter, with a greater focus on helping businesses support their employees before problems take hold, as well as providing assistance when people experience difficult circumstances.

During the webinar, Anna will explore what a Rainy Day Trust partnership can mean for businesses, including access to grants and specialist advice, trained workplace ambassadors and year-round wellbeing campaigns.

The session will also look at why employee wellbeing has become an increasingly important commercial priority for businesses and how organisations can build wellbeing into their workplace culture.

What will you learn?

The webinar will provide members with:

  • A clear understanding of the Rainy Day Trust and the sectors it supports
  • Insight into why employee wellbeing is an important business priority
  • An overview of what a Rainy Day Trust partnership includes and how it works in practice
  • Information on the support, resources and opportunities available through the partnership
  • Guidance on how businesses can explore the partnership further

For BHETA members, the webinar provides an opportunity to discover how the Rainy Day Trust can complement existing employee wellbeing initiatives while offering additional support to businesses and their people.
