2026 has already been a busy year for BHETA, with new members and Business providers joining, new opportunities opening up, and continued work to support members and the wider housewares, DIY, gardening, and small electrical sectors.
As we head towards the final part of the year, here’s a look at some of the activity and achievements across the association so far.
Growing the BHETA Community
BHETA has welcomed 29 new members during 2026, including businesses across DIY, SEA, Housewares and the Associate network.
Connecting Members with Retailers and Marketplaces
A key focus for BHETA is to create meaningful connections between members and the retail community.
BHETA has delivered 8 retailer events, providing members with opportunities to hear directly from major retailers and marketplaces, including John Lewis, B&Q Marketplace, Tesco, Homebase, TikTok Shop, Canadian Tire, Debenhams and Walmart Marketplace.
Sharing Practical Knowledge
Alongside in-person events, BHETA has continued to provide members with access to practical industry knowledge through its webinar programme.
BHETA has delivered 40+ webinars, welcoming more than 740 attendees.
Supporting Marketplace Growth
Marketplaces continue to present significant opportunities for suppliers, but managing multiple platforms can also bring challenges around platform management, advertising, account health, content optimisation and growth.
To support members in navigating these challenges, BHETA launched six Marketplace Working Groups, with the inaugural meetings taking place in May 2026.
Giving Members A Voice
BHETA’s lobbying campaigns cover areas including support for energy-intensive manufacturing, knife legislation, government support for UK exporters, Business Property Relief, low-value imports, PFAS regulations and product design rights.
Among the developments highlighted by BHETA are £120 million of Government support secured for the UK ceramics industry, with household ceramics included in the package, and an increase in the 100% BPR threshold from £1 million to £2.5 million per person following campaigning by BHETA and FBUK.
Exclusively Show returns
In June, BHETA held another successful Exclusively Show, its trade-only showcase for housewares, tabletop and small electrical brands.
Held at the Business Design Centre in London on the 9th and 10th June, the show brought together 135 exhibitors and 250 brands under one roof.
Looking Ahead
With a few months of 2026 still to come, BHETA’s work continues across events, member engagement, retail and marketplace connections, industry support and lobbying.
The progress made so far reflects the strength of the BHETA community and the importance of creating opportunities for members to learn, connect, grow and have their voices heard.
There’s plenty more to come before the end of 2026!
