B&Q has selected GXO Logistics to operate its newly acquired 375,000 sq ft distribution hub at Park Farm, Wellingborough, as part of a major revamp of its logistics network. The move ends a 30-year logistics partnership with PJH Group, although B&Q confirmed it will continue working with PJH as a supplier.
B&Q supply and logistics director Amelie Gallichan-Todd said: “With a focus on improving customer experience, we are evolving our business at pace and regaining market share.
“We have reimagined our operations - seamlessly integrating our stores, apps, and online platforms – to provide home improvers with greater choice, faster service, and enhanced convenience.”
The new hub will enable B&Q to bring sourcing for its bathrooms category inhouse from the second half of next year, integrate customer order management with existing resources, and shift warehousing for the category to the site. Gallichan-Todd added: “Changing how we manage our bathrooms fulfilment service during the second half of 2026 will be another step forward in our evolution.
“It will help us to simplify processes, to manage costs responsibly – leveraging our inhouse sourcing, logistics and merchandising expertise, and to prioritise investment in meeting changing customer needs.
“Our new distribution site is well located and suited for the distribution needs of our bathrooms category, and I’m pleased to announce that we’ve selected GXO Logistics to manage this new site, following a competitive tender.”
The retailer will also leverage its current delivery network to service both shopper homes and stores. The announcement comes after B&Q revealed plans in September to cut more than 650 jobs as part of efforts to “simplify” its retail structure.
