As we head into 2026, Rainy Day Trust, BHETA's partner charity, is asking business leaders across our sector a simple question: What if you could prevent workplace crises before they happen?
Work-related mental health issues now cost the UK economy £57.4 billion each year, and 65% of UK employees report feeling burned out because of work.
Only 50% of organisations believe their efforts to reduce workplace stress are effective.
At Rainy Day Trust, we've always been here for the tough moments…. the redundancy, the bereavement, the unexpected bill that tips someone over the edge. That safety net isn't going anywhere….
…But we're adding something new: the support network that stops people falling in the first place.
From January, we're launching RDT Workplace Ambassadors, trained champions within your own teams who build a culture where wellbeing conversations are normal, support is accessible and small problems get addressed before they become big ones. Think Mental Health First Aiders meets financial resilience meets genuine peer support.
We are also launching a brilliant sector-wide challenge in March 2026 (‘Mad March Million’) that combines team wellbeing, friendly competition and community spirit. Early interest is flying in so if you'd like your business involved, December's the time to register interest.
Interested in finding out more: Please feel free to book 30-minute chat with Anna (our new CEO) at any point throughout December to discuss what workforce wellbeing looks like for your business; what's working, what's not and whether The Rainy Day Trust might be able to help. No obligation, no hard sell, just a genuine conversation between people who care about this sector, from your industry charity partner.
