Seema Grantham, BHETA’s sector manager for housewares and small domestic electricals has been honoured with the Outstanding Achievement award at the Excellence in Housewares Awards. The accolade recognises her contribution over a 25-year career in the sector. Seema received her award in a glittering ceremony, attended by the industry’s finest at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London on 2nd October.Prior to her appointment by BHETA in 2019, Seema was previously UK Sales Director at The Cookware Company, responsible for leading the strategic and commercial development of the company’s UK brands as well as developing successful long-term relationships with key retailers including John Lewis, Lakeland and Dunelm. Prior to that she spent her formative years with Group SEB and latterly DKB.In her role at BHETA, Seema supports existing members with added value initiatives in retailer networking, export and lobbying in the housewares and small domestic electricals sectors as well as increasing the membership base through recruitment. In addition, Seema is also Director of Sales for the Exclusively Show, which is owned by BHETA.During his citation, which was fantastically interrupted with a standing ovation as it became clear who the recipient was, Rob Willis, Chief Operating Officer and joint owner of Max Publishing, commented: “Each year, we receive a great many nominations for this award. Some brilliant, some unexpected. Now and again, there’s a real trend where the same name comes up over and over. That often comes about because that person really is making their mark, and this year’s recipient may just be the expert when it comes to making a mark, leaving a lasting impression, and being ever present in each and every corner of the housewares community.”Will Jones, Chief Operating Officer at BHETA commented, “It goes without saying this is very well-deserved.
