The Trade Remedies Authority (UK Government body) have served notice of their intention to review Anti-Dumping duties on certain Ceramic Tableware & Kitchenware products originating in China.Description of goods subject to review:
- ceramic tableware and kitchenware, excluding ceramic condiment or spice mills and their ceramic grinding parts
- ceramic coffee mills,
- ceramic knife sharpeners
- ceramic sharpeners
- ceramic kitchen tools to be used for cutting, grinding, grating, slicing, scraping and peeling
- cordierite ceramic pizza-stones of a kind used for baking pizza or bread.
The linked document details the commodity codes and products to be reviewed and the key matters of the review are:
- If dumping of the products subject for review would continue or recur if the anti-dumping amount were no longer applied.
- If injury to the UK industry in the relevant goods would be likely to continue or recur if the anti-dumping amount were no longer applied.
The removal of anti-dumping measures could be of benefit to many BHETA members who import products but also might be considered unhelpful to some UK manufacturers. You are encouraged to register ASAP with your views. Please do send BHETA - Samantha Astle - sa@bheta.co.uk, a copy of your submission as this will enable us to review and submit an overall response on our members' behalf.READ THE GOVERNMENT DOCUMENTNote: image © Copyright Humphrey Bolton and licensed for reuse under a Creative Commons Licence.
