BHETA welcomes Bartoline

Bartoline Limited, a privately-owned family business first established in 1876 is the latest leading UK manufacturer to join BHETA.

It produces pre-packed solvents, woodcare products, fillers, wallcovering adhesives and many other products associated with the home improvement industry at two purpose-built factory units in Beverley, East Yorkshire.

Bartoline has a particularly fascinating history in that a major fire in 2003 destroyed its factories, offices and warehouses. This prompted an extensive recovery plan which has resulted in the most modern and safe factory in Europe for packaging of solvents and associated products. The new premises also include an adjacent site which has been dedicated to the manufacture of filler and adhesive products. These two new facilities have allowed the company to embark on a massive expansion programme.

The company now specialises in the manufacture of decorating sundry products which are distributed extensively through retail, wholesale and trade outlets throughout the UK and an ever-increasing number of countries overseas. Together with products sold under the Bartoline brand, own label is another speciality with a service which includes everything from original design to finished product. Clients include most of the UK’s large multiple DIY retailers and supermarkets.

Paul Grinsell, Home Improvement Director at BHETA said, “Bartoline has a fascinating history and I feel sure that the team will bring immense experience to BHETA, spanning branded and own label.”
