Exclusively briefing attracts over 50 exhibitors
Over 50 BHETA members attended a BHETA half day briefing for members planning to exhibit at this year’s Exclusively Housewares and Exclusively Electrical Shows.
The briefing forum was aimed at those wishing to find out more about upcoming trends in the housewares and small electricals retail market, and how they can be used to influence product displays at the Exclusively Shows. It also proved a great introduction to the shows for first time exhibitors with the Exclusively team on hand to answer questions and offer advice.
There was unanimously positive feedback from attendees and typical feedback included Tracey Beale of Creative Products who said, “Thank you – I found the forum yesterday really helpful and interesting. Thanks for BHETA for organising it.” Tom Campbell from Metaltex echoed her thoughts: “Thank you for putting the forum on! It was very helpful,” he said.
Speakers included exhibition organiser Simon Boyd who introduced ‘Tomorrow’s Kitchen’, a new show feature designed to review the latest technological, lifestyle and design advancements within the domestic kitchen, and look ahead to what the future holds. Simon shared details and drawings of the new feature and explained how exhibitors can get involved through product demonstrations and product display.
Phil Pond of Scarlet Opus provided a brief on the key consumer and design trends for Christmas 2017 and the 2018 spring / summer season and how the trails of ‘On Trend’ product will be chosen. Vanessa Fortnam talked through all the marketing opportunities before and during the shows.
BHETA’s sector director of housewares, Will Jones explained, “The Exclusively Shows are a very exciting opportunity for suppliers, retailers and opinion formers, having established a reputation for predicting commercial opportunities for the year ahead. It was great that so many members attended to ensure they were in a position to make the most of it.”
