BHETA’s latest initiative designed to further the export ambitions of members is a trade mission to Bucharest in Romania taking place on 26th -28th November 2018. The mission is being organised in partnership with the British Romanian Chamber of Commerce, which is providing a packed schedule of events.
With Romania’s twenty million population and a home improvement (DIY) market worth an estimated 2-3 billion EUR per year, Romania has also seen developing trends in both gardening and housewares. DIY retailers reported a sales growth of up to 30% in 2016 with Dedeman and Arabesque holding 80% of the market share. Home and garden specialist retail chains are a favourite shopping destination with trends increasingly more in line with Western consumers. The country’s economy is set to continue growing and consumers are increasingly demanding convenience and high quality.
BHETA’s trade mission will bring together buyers, distributors and market experts from Romania’s major home improvement, housewares / utility and garden retailers, including store visits and 1:1 buyer meetings.
Two and three day packages are available. Accommodation is included, but delegates are responsible for booking their own flights and transfers.
BHETA members wishing to take part can register by contacting Madalina Ciinaru at the British Romanian Chamber of commerce on firstname.lastname@example.org. It is also essential to advise BHETA of registration by contacting Nicola on email@example.com
Home improvement sector director, Paul Grinsell commented, “BHETA is enabling some really positive export initiatives including trade missions such as the recent very successful sales push in Slovenia. I hope to see many members taking advantage of this latest opportunity.”
Home enhancement sector director Will Jones added, “Export can seem daunting for companies not already involved, so it’s great that BHETA can now offer really practical support, alongside the experience of existing exporters amongst the membership who are willing to share knowledge and best practice.”
