On March 7th BHETA hosted a half day briefing session for members planning to exhibit at this year’s Exclusively Housewares and Exclusively Electrical Shows.
Speakers included the exhibition organising and marketing team and trend forecasters, Scarlet Opus, who together introduced delegates to the two-day event, filled with new products from over 125 exhibitors, including 16 new ones.
There was also an ‘exhibitor masterclass’ aimed at enabling exhibitors to get the best out of their presence at the show through product demonstrations, product trails and product display.
The Shows will feature trends tours, talks and a competition with trend forecaster, Scarlet Opus and the Exclusively media service, all expanded on the back of last year’s successes.
A new gift voucher initiative called Exclusively Gift was launched as a tool for generating business at the event. A joint initiative between Exclusively and the British Independent Retailers Association (bira), the Exclusively Gift vouchers have a value of £100 and can be used by bira members to open accounts with participating exhibitors or develop existing ones.
Another new attraction will be Charles Banks from “the food people”, who will be presenting a food trends talk each day at the show. “the food people” will share the most relevant food and drink future trends which will have an impact on every visitor and exhibitor attending the show over the course of the next two years.
BHETA’s sector director of housewares, Will Jones explained, “The Exclusively Shows are a very exciting opportunity for suppliers, retailers and opinion formers, having established a reputation for predicting commercial opportunities for the year ahead. The briefing forum was aimed at those wishing to find out more about upcoming trends in the housewares and small electricals retail market, and how they can be used to enhance exhibitor presence. It was also a great introduction to the shows for first time exhibitors with the Exclusively team on hand to answer questions and offer advice.”
