BHETA and GIMA in Home Hardware ‘Meet the Buyer’ success
BHETA, working with GIMA, hosted another in its successful series of ‘Meet the Buyer’ days, this time with Home Hardware, the UK’s largest retailer-owned organisation.
The event took place on 17th October in Barnstaple and enabled 69 meetings between suppliers and the five-strong Home Hardware buying team.
Paul Andrews, Product Manager DIY at Home Hardware commented, “This was a very enjoyable day with some great opportunities for us to follow up.” Home Hardware’s Rachel Taylor added. “Thanks for a great day – I really enjoyed meeting the suppliers and am particularly hopeful for future trading with a least three of the people I met.”
Home Hardware is the largest organisation of its kind in the UK and has over 450 retail members including independent hardware retailers, homewares shops, cook shops, ironmongers, and garden centres.
The company was looking for suppliers of products to feature in its key 2018 Home and Garden Brochure and Summer Leisure Brochure. Chosen lines will, subject to performance over the promotional period, also be stocked ongoing, potentially forming part of the core product offering to its 450-plus members, giving suppliers the opportunity to target new independent retail channels as well as reinforcing commitment to existing independent distribution.
BHETA’s home enhancement sector director, Will Jones commented, “The event was a great success with some very positive feedback from both Home Hardware buyers and suppliers participating on the day.”
