BHETA HOLDS SECOND MEET THE BUYER EVENT WITH HOMEBASE

BHETA’s second virtual ‘Meet The Buyer’ event with Homebase at the end of March was proclaimed a success by suppliers and buyers.  The event focussed purely on paint, wallpaper, decorating tools and accessories and cleaning sundries.

21 suppliers enjoyed 22 appointments with the Homebase buying team, who were optimistic about being able to list several the products seen.  The event follows the success of the first virtual Homebase ‘MTB’ organised by BHETA earlier this year, when the focus was on building products, flooring, tiling, fixings and tools.

The Meet The Buyer format is a tried and tested BHETA retailer networking event and has translated successfully into a Zoom format.  Suppliers are permitted a maximum of two people for a 20-minute appointment with the relevant buyer, during which they focus on product features and benefits, together with cost price proposals.

Chief Operating Officer of BHETA, Will Jones commented, “It goes without saying Homebase is a big draw for suppliers and both events this year have been popular.  We have quite a number of similar occasions planned with UK multiples, garden centre chains, department stores and online retailers, so there will be many more opportunities for BHETA members and prospective members.”
