Date(s) - 19/11/2019
We are delighted to announce that a date for the BHETA Business Support forum has been set, for Tuesday 19th November 2019, from 10am to 2pm, at our offices at Federation House, Vyse Street, Birmingham.
We have an excellent line up of speakers specifically chosen to highlight opportunities in the industry and stimulate debate on a number of current key issues:
Ellis Whittam: “Recruitment and Right to Work Checks post-Brexit”
Laura Chalkley, Head of team, Employment Law
This session will provide an update on the latest government guidance on ‘right to work’ checks, in either a ‘no deal’ Brexit or a ‘deal’ outcome.
AFEX: ‘Getting a good night’s sleep: protecting your business from FX volatility’
Trevor Charlsey, AFEX Senior Markets Advisor
With no-one able to predict what will happen with Brexit, the pound could be in for some huge swings. The fluctuations can make for nasty surprises to a business’s bottom line so a hedging policy is an absolute must. We will explain what to consider when thinking about currency and how to prepare for the unknown.
Salesupply: “Fulfilment – options, solutions, choices with an eye to Brexit”
Frank van den Berg, Managing Director
Fulfilment is quickly becoming a question of strategic importance – what are customer expectations, how much extra sales will I get if can deliver within 12 hours, how do I balance what customers want with what makes economic sense, how can I overcome the possible impact of Brexit? We will provide practical information and provoking thoughts that we hope will help you to develop the best solution for your storage and fulfilment, with a focus on multi-country operations.
RT7 Digital Ltd: “Making the most of your Amazon business”
Jack Cooper, Data Insight Manager and Herbie King, Head of Strategy
66% of product searches now start on Amazon, whilst 79% of e-commerce sales include Amazon as part of the online customer journey. We believe that developing a successful Amazon strategy is as much about owning your content and telling your brand story as it is about building a profitable sales channel. We will be discussing the benefits of using Amazon and walk you through some expert tips – from managing successful campaigns to creating strong product listings and boosting your organic visibility.
Wastepack Ltd: “Packaging in flux: how to minimise costs in a rapidly changing regulatory environment”
Paul Van Danzig, Policy Director
We’ll explain the factors behind the huge rise in the cost of packaging compliance this year, and look at what BHETA members can do to mitigate the increases. We’ll investigate future changes to the regulations, including the Governments proposals to introduce Extended Producer Responsibility and a Tax on recycled content of plastic packaging, which could be a significant challenge for BHETA members.
i-CRC: “Minimise the impact of counterfeiting on your business”
Lorraine Fisher, Investigator
Counterfeit goods can have a serious impact on your business. We’ll provide an insight to how counterfeiters operate and highlight the steps you can take to protect your business, using a case study of Boxman in Turkey.
BHETA Export Surgery: “Your Export questions answered”
The BHETA Export Committee will be on hand to provide advice and support to any member who has a specific question or query. This is a new initiative for members only and for further detail on how to submit your questions please see link.
BHETA – Will Jones will provide an update on the latest developments and initiatives.
Refreshments will be provided on the day, including a networking lunch. We anticipate the forum to conclude at approximately 2pm.
