Meet Amanda Reed, Leekes Buying Controller
BHETA’s next retailer networking forum takes place on Wednesday, 25th March and will feature a presentation from Amanda Reed, Buying Controller from Leekes. Amanda will provide an exciting insight to the changes taking place at the out of town chain of six department stores, which offers thousands of products across housewares, garden, DIY, furniture, kitchens and bathrooms.
From a humble beginning in South Wales the company now has six department stores and styles itself ‘the home experts’. In 2009 Leekes bought Cole’s Home Furnishings, a family-owned chain of furniture stores in the West Midlands to add to the department stores in South Wales and Wiltshire.
Also joining Amanda on the day will be Ben Delaney, Associate Director from the CBI providing attendees with a valuable economic update, taking account of Brexit developments.
BHETA has recently partnered with Globaldata to produce a quarterly market report for members, and Emily Stella, Lead Analyst and Amy Higginbotham, Analyst from Global Data will be sharing valuable market data on the Home Improvement industry and the detailed reports they have available to members.
John Pierce, CEO from Made In Britain, will be sharing information about what they can do to help Britain’s SME suppliers. Made in Britain brings together the British manufacturing community, united with the use of the registered collective mark.
Carol Paris, CEO from the Somerton Group will be talking about Garden Centres and their initiatives within the industry to become more sustainable and improve their green credentials.
