Crafting Compelling Content

Wednesday 23rd June – A creative full-day virtual workshop for BHETA members

Learn & practice the secrets of effective copywriting in a day

  • Do you need to create interesting, persuasive and compelling content?
  • Do you need that content to be effective on websites, in emails, in the media and in your social media channels?

If so, our day-long workshop (built on the foundations of two of BHETA’s most popular marketing webinars) will boost your content-writing skills and give you an injection of experience that will improve your written output immediately.

Who is the course for?

This course is for anyone who needs to create effective written content as part of their job. It’s ideal for marketers who have had no formal training in content-writing but who find themselves in the ‘we need some great copy’ hot-seat.

If you lack formal training in content-writing, it’s all too easy to produce good prose that’s also poor content. Great content-writing requires artistry, but the best results come when creativity is coupled to a set of principles built up over years of practical experience in marketing.

What you’ll learn

By learning the techniques and applying some of the practical tips that this day offers, you’ll see an instant impact on the results of your writing across a wide range of media. This workshop is run in a supportive, interactive atmosphere and will be full of examples taken from the DIY & Homecare vertical that forms the core of BHETA’s membership.

The course is based on the agendas of two of BHETA’s most popular recent webinars

  1. How to write for online                                    Andrew Rastall – Managing Director, Brew
  2. How to plan & create content that works        Kate Murphy – Managing Director, Brookes & Co

Between them, these webinars introduced you to the processes that will supercharge your written output and the methods you can follow to spark and then maximise your creativity.

This workshop will build on and then go beyond the core elements introduced in the webinars. In six 45 minute sessions made up of lectures and workshop exercises you’ll learn about.

  1. The content mindset
  2. A content writing methodology
  3. Four pillars of effective content
  4. How to write for your audience
  5. How to grab attention – and keep it
  6. How to quadruple your output
