Kesa Electricals Struggling Sales

Kesa Electricals has reports a 1.1% rise in group sales from 1 November to 8 January 2012. On a like-for-like basis sales declined 1.3%.

“Kesa’s exposure to the particularly challenging trading environment in Europe has resulted in a weakening like-for-like performance across its European banners. As for Comet, well it was expected to struggle over Christmas but these results are nothing short of disastrous and have added another £10-15m to debt. What with the problems securing credit insurance and the legal issues with Microsoft, further obstacles continue to mount up in front of new owners Opcapita.
